Fraud Alert

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission is warning consumers of a scheme involving individuals posing as funeral directors, funeral home managers or "funeral home representatives". These individuals are calling grieving families and demanding payment for funeral goods and services. The perpetrators then threaten to cancel planned funeral services for these families unless payment is received immediately. Consumers are advised to end such a call if it appears to be suspicious, most especially if there is a demand for payment. R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home or its staff will never ask for payment over the phone. If this happens, please hang up and call the funeral home as soon as possible if this happens to you.
