Mrs. Aldora D. Parks, formerly of Adairsville went to be with her Lord and Savior at the graceful age of 103 on April 22, 2016.

She was born in Gora Springs, Georgia, February 15, 1913, daughter of the late Sam Wright and Mary Molly Fletcher Wright. Mrs. Parks was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, Adairsville. In her life she had worked as a cook, a cosmetologist, and also with the State of New York in the family services department. She treasured being with her family, enjoyed baking cakes, and playing the piano. Mrs. Parks was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, James Dodson and late husband, Robert Parks; daughter, Marianease Henderson; siblings Vinnie Finley, Winnie Owens, Mary Lou Wright, Eva Waters, Lois Chapman, Ethel Hudson, William Wright and Leroy Wright.

Survivors include her loving granddaughters, Mary Hayes of Adairsville and Shirley Richard of Adairsville; 5 great-grandchildren, 10 great great- grandchildren, 9 great great great-grandchildren; a special friend, Leola Wilkey; a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 27, at 1:00 PM at the Adairsville Body of Christ Church with Pastor Kenneth Louis Benham, Pastor Charles McConnell, JR, Profit Richard Harris, Elder Gregory Harris, and Evangelist Minnie Nell McConnell officiating. Interment will follow in Poplar Springs Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church on Wednesday from 12:00 Noon until the time of the funeral. Pallbearers will be Steve McConnell, Lewis Benham, JR, Eugene Glenn, Doyle Owens, Bobby Joe Owens, and Kim Richards. Honorary pallbearer will be, Richard Harris. Flower girls include Falicha Benham, Tammie Richards, Sekeita Claussell, Misty Montgomery, and Keiche Ledbetter. Honorary flower girl will be Leola Wilkey.
