Alton "Buddy"
Aubrey Adcock
January 10, 1930 – February 16, 2018
He was born in the Folsom community, Adairsville, January 10, 1930, son of the late Max Aubrey Adcock and Elsie Naoma Green Adcock. Buddy was one of the longest active living members of Cedar Creek Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army and member of the Adairsville Masonic Lodge #168 F & A M for 65 years. He proudly held many occupations throughout his life including farming, school bus driver, and retired mail carrier. Buddy was a pillar of the Folsom community, always quick with a smile or interesting old story. He was a devoted and loving husband and friend to all. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Claude Armstrong, and nephew, Randy Armstrong.
Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Cleo Adcock; sister, Evelyn Armstrong, great -nephew, Robert Armstrong and several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 19, 2018 at 2:00 PM, at Cedar Creek Baptist Church, Adairsville, with the Rev. Gregg Free and Rev. Larry Hibberts officiating. Interment will follow in Hayes Cemetery, Adairsville. Pallbearers will be Robert Armstrong, Lowell Wilkins, Johnny Cantrell, Jordan Miller, George White, and Daniel Bramblett. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Cedar Creek Baptist Church and the men of the Folsom community.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, will be in charge of funeral arrangements for Mr. Alton Aubrey "Buddy" Adcock.
