Obituary

Mrs. April Renae Hardy (Millwood), age 44, of Adairsville, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. After a courageous battle with cancer, April went home to be with the Lord, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, selflessness, and devotion to her family.

April was born in Marietta, Georgia on February 5, 1982, daughter of Linda Faye Blalock Millwood and Anthony Lloyd Millwood She was also greeted in heaven by her grandparents, Fletcher and Lena Blalock and Bobby and Lillie Mae Millwood; and father-in-law, James Curtis Hardy.

Survivors include her loving husband of 23 years, Mark Hardy; beloved children, Noah Hardy and Elizabeth Hardy; parents, Tony and Linda Millwood; sister, Mandie Schmick (Jeff); brother, Matt Millwood; mother-in-law, Sharon Hardy; brother-in-law, Matt Hardy (Heather); aunts and uncles, Dale Browning, Russell Hardy, Herchel Blalock, Jerry Blalock, Velva Lolley, Kathy Cooper, Steve Blalock, Timmy Blalock, Connie Matthews; nieces and nephews, Jack Schmick, Molly Schmick, Hailie Smith, Kinsley Smith, Angela Hardy, Ian Hardy, and Lora Hardy; and her bestie, Alexis Müster along with several others.

April was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. For 23 years, she shared a beautiful marriage with her husband, who was not only her spouse, but her best friend, partner, and the love of her life. Together, they built a family, made countless memories, faced life's hardships, and celebrated its joys. Above all, April treasured her family and the time they shared together.

April's life was marked by her selfless and caring nature. Even throughout her illness, she continued to put others before herself. She kept loving, kept giving, kept being the loving wife and devoted mother her family cherished. Her strength and faith carried her through some of life's most difficult moments.

Her faith in God was an important part of her journey. Throughout her battle with cancer, April often spoke of God's promise that He would carry her through the fire. Though her family prayed and hoped for more time with her, they ultimately found peace in surrendering to God's will and trusting that He would carry her home.

April's story will never be defined by cancer. Her story is the love she gave, the memories she created, and the lives she touched. Most importantly, her story lives on through her children, Noah and Liz, who will forever know how deeply their mother loved them.

Though her family will deeply miss her presence, they find comfort in knowing that April is no longer suffering. Her pain is gone, her body is whole, and she is at peace in the presence of her Lord and Savior. When she took her final breath here, she took her first breath in Heaven. April will be remembered for her beautiful heart, her unwavering love for her family, her selfless spirit, and the countless lives she touched during her time on earth. Though she is no longer here, the love she gave will continue to live through her children, her husband, her family, and all who were blessed to know her.

“I will live and not die, and I will proclaim what the Lord has done.” — Psalm 118:17

Her battle is over. Her pain is gone. She is home.
