Mr. Audie Lee Murphy, Sr., 53, of 74 Woody Road, NW, Adairsville, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Gordon Hospital, Calhoun.
He was born in Rome, GA, October 3, 1959, son of Shirley Wright Murphy and the late Franklin Delano Murphy. Mr. Murphy was a member of Adairsville First Christian Church and enjoyed gardening, fishing, and hunting. He was preceded in death by father.
Survivors include his wife, Lynn Ward Murphy of Adairsville; mother, Shirley Murphy of Adairsville; 3 sons, Audie Murphy, Jr. of Perry, Alex Murphy of Perry, and Gavin Ward Murphy of Adairsville; daughter, Joycelynn Ward Murphy of Adairsville; two brothers, Timmy Murphy and Frankie Murphy, both of Adairsville; special niece and nephews, Blake Worley, Adam Murphy, and Adrian Murphy; great nieces and nephews, Layla Murphy, Nora-Kate Murphy, Daylin Murphy, Jackson Murphy, Keeliegh Murphy, and Aden Worley.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 30, 2013, at 3:00 PM from the Adairsville Church of Christ with Mike Smith officiating. .
The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the Adairsville Church of Christ.
