Mrs. Barbara Fay Johnston, age 84, of Adairsville, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2024.

She was born in Rome, Georgia, September 19, 1940, daughter of the late Johnnie A. Johnston and Rachel Baggett Johnston. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Francis "Frank" John Gilmore; sons, Timothy Norris and Jeffery Lee Norris; daughter, Patsy Earhart; granddaughter, Rachel Earhart and sisters, Fannie Johnston and Margie Nichols. Barbara was of the Baptist faith and retired from the Internal Revenue Service. She was a kind and generous person, always willing to help others. She enjoyed shopping and gardening. Her greatest accomplishment was her family whom she loved dearly.

Survivors include her son, Chris and Maurica Norris; daughter, Vickie Dunker, grandchildren, Willow Norris, Nate Norris, Amber Norris, Ross Norris, Jamie Norris, and Brittany Dunker; great-grandchildren, Ashton and Aubrey Echols and Anthony and Annley Norris.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 2, 2024, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Rev. Todd Tibbitts officiating. Interment will be at Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville.

The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
