Mrs. Barbara Lavelle Worley King, age 81, of Brownlee Mountain Road, Adairsville, made her Passover Saturday, April 4, 2015.
She was born in Calhoun, GA, December 8, 1933, daughter of the late John P. Worley and Annie Samples Worley. She was a faithful and lifelong member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. King enjoyed gardening and canning. She was preceded in death by her husband, D. M King; siblings, Willie Mae Lemons, Clara Bell Cochran, Dorsey Worley, Avanelle Hamilton, Mary Camp, Edna Hardy, Roy Worley, Opal Simmons, and Geneva Worley.
Survivors include her children, Gloria and Gerald Childers of Adairsville, Presley King of Adairsville, Donna and Frank Moorehead of Adairsville, Beverly and Rickey Whitfield of Adairsville, and Bruce and Mary "Cooky" King of Adairsville; grandchildren, Aaron and Brandi Moorehead, Ariel King and Abigail King; great-grandchildren, Riley, Lexi, Adison, Alex, and Aaron Moorehead, Jr.; brother, Donald Worley of Adairsville and sister Winnie and Richard Keith of Rome; several step-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 2:00 PM from Oak Grove Baptist Church with ministers Jackie Clayton, Gary Hibberts, and Roger Fisher officiating. Her children will be in charge of the music. Interment will follow in Gordon Memorial Cemetery, Calhoun. The body will lie in state at the church from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Pallbearers include Terry King, Joe King, Ricky King, Johnny Worley, Joe Hardy and Riley Moorehead.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
