Mrs. Betty Jean Cox, age 74, of Casey Street, Adairsville, passed away Thursday morning, November 5, 2015 at her residence.

Mrs. Cox was born in Clay County, NC, August 15, 1941, daughter of the late Paul Ledford and Rose Pendergrass Ledford. She was of the Christian faith. Mrs. Cox loved flower gardening and being with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Rev. John Cox, Sr.; daughter, Bobbi Jean Cox; brother and sisters, Robert, Clyde, Johnny, Carrol, Ivalee and Dorothy.

She is survived by son, John Cox, JR of Adairsville; grandchildren, Misty and Kyle Roberts of Rockmart, John Cox, III and Teri Lee of Adairsville, and Amber and David King of Adairsville; daughter-in-law, Tammy Chastain of Adairsville; great-grandchildren, Tyson Cochran, Gracy Cox, Lexi Roberts, Taylor King, Jaylin Lee, and Kason Cox; sister, Willa Mae Mashburn of North Carolina and special friend, Josh Carringer.

Memorial services will be held Monday, November 9, 2015 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville with Rev. Jim Pinkard officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
