Mrs. Betty Baggett Ingram Craig, age 74, of 527 Fieldwood Drive, Adairsville, passed into life eternal, Friday, June 10, 2016.
Beloved by many, "Miss Betty", was born (September 19, 1941) and raised in Adairsville, the middle… and the meanest, of the Baggett girls. She had retired from the Bartow County School System following over thirty-one years of faithful service as lunchroom manager at Adairsville Elementary. A pillar of the community, she truly embodied Christ's Commandment to love one's neighbor as oneself. Answering the Lord's call, Betty, along with husband Freddy Craig, founded Feed My Sheep Ministries, which was successful in feeding the hungry of the community for over twenty years. She was also an active member of the Adairsville First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Craig was preceded in death by her first husband, Jimmy Ingram; her father, "Big" Edd Baggett; and a brother-in-law, Wick Jarrett, Jr.
Survivors include her husband of twenty years, Freddy R. Craig of Adairsville; her mother, Lucille Baggett of Adairsville; children, Eddie and Jan Ingram of White, Scott Ingram of Adairsville, Natalie Ingram and Michael Miller, Jr. of Adairsville, Jennifer and Tom Gillman of Marietta, and Brandon and Tina Cook of Adairsville; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Barbara Jarrett of Adairsville, and Glenda and David Fletcher of Adairsville; six grandchildren, Alex Ingram, Skylar Johnson, Davis Ingram, Jackson Ingram, Andrew Gillman, and Maddux Cook; great-grandson, Ender Ingram; stepgrandchildren, Ryan Sherwood, Erin, Robin and Meghan Gillman, Krystin and Ashlyn Gilbert and Alden Kiddy; nieces, nephews and many, many generations of "her kids" that she fed and shepherded through Adairsville Elementary and the surrounding community.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at 5:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville, with Rev. David Baker officiating. A private interment will follow at a later time in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville. Her grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
