Mrs. Betty Marie Fox Hale, age 75, of Plainville Road, Plainville, passed away Monday, May 6, 2013 at her residence.

Mrs. Hale was born in Unionville, MD, June 1, 1937, daughter of the late Arthur E. Sirk and Goldie Anderson Bowers. She was later a long time resident of Valley Head, AL, before moving to Georgia in 1988. An avid shopper, she loved spending time browsing Wal-Mart and yard sales. She also enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. Mrs. Hale was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Arthur Franklin Fox; 2 sisters, Thelma Bower Linton and Judy Bowers; a brother, Buck Bowers.

Survivors include her husband of 25 years, Chester Hale of Plainville; 2 daughters and son-in-law, Patricia Forester of Plainville and Debra and Toby Henson of Calhoun; 2 sons and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Treca Fox of Valley Head, AL and Russell Fox of CA; 6 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary V. Jones of Glenwood, ML; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack "Buddy" and Linda Sirk of Hanover, PN and William "Bill" and June Bowers of Glenwood, MD; several stepchildren, in-laws, and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at 3:30 PM at the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville with Rev. Alvin Hale officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville,

The family will receive friends Wednesday at Barton Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
