Mrs. Betty Ann Ray, 64, of Pine Grove Circle, Adairsville, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2013, at Redmond Regional Medical Center, Rome.
She was born in Calhoun, GA, July 14, 1949, daughter of the late Lonnie and Emma Smith Adams. Mrs. Ray was of the Baptist Faith and had worked for several years at Ranger Rugs, in addition to operating her own business doing residential and commercial cleaning. She most enjoyed spending time with and taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and 8 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Alvin Ray, Jr., of Adairsville; 2 daughters and a son-in-law, April Popejoy of Adairsville and Sherry and Chuck Massingill of Adairsville; a son and daughter-in-law, Alvin Ray, III, and Lorene Feld of Rydal; stepson and daughter-in-law, Lamar and Michelle Ray of Cartersville; a stepdaughter, Brenda Ray of Kingston; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; 2 sisters, Ruby Dean of Chatsworth and Inez Pierce of Woodstock; a brother, Vernon Adams of Woodstock; numerous nieces and nephews survive.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at 3:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville with Rev. Robert "Bob" Ray officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:00PM until the funeral begins at 3:00PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
