Obituary

Mrs. Betty Feerrar Schwanbeck, age 90, of Boyd Mountain Road, Adairsville, passed away on Friday morning (July 24, 2015) at the residence.

Mrs. Schwanbeck was born in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, April 21, 1925, daughter of the late Harold E. Feerrar, Sr. and Bertha Shultz Feerrar. She was a devoted Christian and a member of Adairsville Baptist Church for over forty years. A former member of the Red Carpet Cattle Women Association, she spent many years farming with her husband and family. She was a very proud mother and grandmother, enjoying all their achievements. An avid little league baseball fan, she attended several World Series and also enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves. Mrs. Schwanbeck was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl A. Schwanbeck, Sr.; sister, Virginia Dalton; brother, Pastor Harold E. Feerrar, Jr.

Survivors include her sons, Carl (Linda) Schwanbeck, Jr. of Tuscon, Arizona, Dale (Susan) Schwanbeck of Griffin, Dr. Dan (Reatha) Schwanbeck of Adairsville, Craig (Lisa) Schwanbeck of Rome; daughter, Betsy (Jackie) Blalock of Adairsville, Grandchildren, Kelly (Eddie) Weber, Lindsay (Matt) Tipton, Andrew (Tabatha) Schwanbeck, John Schwanbeck, Dr. Anna Schwanbeck, Jeremy (Amanda) Schwanbeck and Nathan Schwanbeck, Cathy Schwanbeck, and Rev. Brian (Rebekah) Schwanbeck; great-grandchildren, Audrey and Grant Weber, Aiden, Rylan, Bennett, and Alexis Schwanbeck, Taylor and Luke Couey; several nieces and nephews and special friends, Karen Fuller and Stephanie Nelson.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 27, 2015 at 5:00 PM at Adairsville Baptist Church with Reverends Charles Goode, Eric Sorrell, and Michael Hunt officiating. Interment will follow in the Schwanbeck Family Cemetery, Adairsville. The body will lie in state at the church on Monday from 4:00 pm until the funeral hour. Pallbearers include Jeremy, Andrew, John, and Brian Schwanbeck, Tater Fuller, Norman Parker, and Freddie Fletcher. Honorary pallbearers include her nephews, also Mitchell Mullanix, Billy Harris, and members of the Adairsville Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Barton Funeral Home.
