Mrs. Betty Ruth Shaw Thacker, age 93, of Adairsville, went to her heavenly home Sunday evening, September 26, 2021.

She was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, September 1, 1928, daughter of the late Herman Lee Shaw and Ida Vereen Smith Shaw. Mrs. Thacker was a member of Poplar Springs Fellowship Church. She loved: Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior, her family, cooking, flower gardening, and working word searches. Mrs. Thacker was preceded in death by her parents; husband and father of her children, Benjamin F. Towe; second husband, Felix Thacker; grandchildren, Brendon Towe and Kailey Porach; and brothers, Don (Betty) Shaw, Richard Shaw, Ronnie Shaw, Lonnie Shaw, and Gary Shaw, and sisters, Ruby Mae Shaw, Virginia Bond, Patsy Dobbs, and many special loved ones.

Survivors include her children, Glenda (Edward) Pratt, Sharon (Richard) Boswell, David (Deborah) Towe; grandchildren, Kevin (Tamara) Stroup, Keith Stroup, Darin (Brandi) Boswell, Dina (Jeff) Manning, Charity Towe, Corey (Shannon) Towe; great-grandchildren, Benjamin Stroup, Elijah Stroup, Berkleigh (Brandon) Dutton, Trey (Haley) Gulledge, Coltin (Alie) Gulledge, McKenna Gulledge, Brody (Hope) Boswell, Dawson Boswell, Kinsey Boswell, Chase Porach, Joshua Towe, Jacob Towe, and Anniston Towe; great great-grandchildren, Gracelyn Stroup, Joshua Akins, Emberlee Dutton, Rylenn Gulledge, Jackson Gulledge, Jaxson Gilstrap, and Wrenly Gulledge; brothers, Leonard (Sherry) Shaw and Gene (Marie) Shaw; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Shaw and Jean Sanders and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, September 30, 2021, at 12:00 Noon from Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville with Reverends Terry Hensley and Randy Gulledge officiating. Following the graveside service the family will receive friends at Barton Funeral Home from 1:00PM until 3:00PM. Mrs. Thacker's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
