Mrs. Betty Sue Woodring, age 80, of Wesley Road, Adairsville, GA, went home to be with her Lord, Wednesday evening, January 9, 2019.
She was born in Gordon County, GA, on February 28, 1938, daughter of the late Ernest and Gydia Robson Cooper. Betty was a member of NorthPointe Church, "Fred's Flock" Wednesday Night Small Group and a dedicated mother, grandmother, wife and special friend to many. She enjoyed doing puzzles, cross-stitching, loved to cook, and was well known for her exceptional fried pies. She also took pleasure in fishing, traveling to the beach, and especially cherished spending time her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas Wayne Woodring; son, Timothy Woodring; Goddaughter, Amanda Mitchell; 2 brothers Hubert and Travis Cooper; and a sister, Dorothy Reed.
Survivors include 3 daughters and a son-in-law, Tina Woodring of Adairsville, Pam and Sam Samples of Kingston and Vicki King of Adairsville; a son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Diane Woodring of Ashville, OH; 7 grandchildren, Blake Mincey, Jason Woodring, Matthew Woodring, Luke Woodring, Brooke King, Brandon Vines, and Brandi Moorehead; 7 great-grandchildren; 3 half brothers, Randall Cooper, Greg Cooper, and Jeff Cooper; nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 13, 2019 at 3:00 PM at NorthPointe Church, Adairsville, with Rev. Jim Pinkard and Bro. Fred Painter officiating. The body will lie in state at the church from 2:00 PM until the funeral hour. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville.
Pallbearers include Blake Mincey, Matthew Woodring, Luke Woodring, Brandon Vines, Eric Hall, Jimmy Boyd and Jason Woodring. NorthPointe's Wednesday Night Small Group, "Fred's Flock", will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Saturday, January 12, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
