Mr. Billy Joe Long, passed away March 4, 2025. Mr. Long was born in Calhoun, Georgia, July 15, 1950, son of Dock and Marion Long. He was a proud Vietnam veteran and purple heart recipient. He enjoyed nothing more than riding his Harley, fishing, and being a rebel. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Anne Long; son, Terry Wayne Long; brothers, Johnny, AW, Clarance; sisters, Inez, Wanda, Betty Jean, and Rosie.

Survivors include his son, Roy Wayne Long; brother Buddy; sisters May and Betty Jean; granddaughters, Charlie Rebecca Angel (Chris) and Brittany Anne Long; great grandsons, Greyson Edward Angel and Granger Mark Angel; and community friends Al Langston (Darla) and Joey Black.

Honoring Billy's wishes he was cremated. A celebration of Billy's life will be held March 31, 2025, at 3:00 PM at the Georgia National Cemetery, Canton with military honors.
