Mr. Billy Dwayne Stokes, Sr, age 35, of Highway 20, Cartersville, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2016 at Cartersville Medical Center.

He was born in Cartersville, Georgia, March 16, 1981, son of Curtis Clayton Stokes and Nobie Hardman Stokes. Billy was an outgoing fun loving guy who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elmer and Flossy Stokes, William Hardman, and Sally Banks.

Survivors include his wife, Sharla Sellers Stokes of Cartersville; children, Justin Stokes, Joshua Stokes, Billy Stokes, Jr, Andrew Cox, and Pamela Cox; parents, Curtis and Nobie Stokes of Ranger; sister, Kristi Stokes of Canton; nephew, Jacob Higgins; mother-in-law, Glenda Sellers of Cartersville; brother-in-law, Randall and Dana Sellers; sisters-in-law, Paula Womack and several aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Rev. Shane Banks and Mr. Raymond Banks officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery, Cartersville. Pallbearers include Justin Stokes, Billy Stokes, Jr, Andrew Cox, Randy Stokes, John Manning, Jr, Daniel Henderson, Sunny Fox, and Clay Sellers. Honorary Pallbearers include Mickey Hardman, Mikle Stokes, and Jay Herber.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.
