Mr. Billy John Wheeler, age 78, of Kingston passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021, at Floyd Medical Center.

Mr. Wheeler was born in Kingston, Georgia, June 18, 1942 , son of the late Joseph Lorenzo Wheeler and Ida Lorena Harris Wheeler. Mr. Wheeler was a member of Kingston Baptist Church. Billy served in the United States Army and was veteran of the Vietnam War. After the service he assisted in operating the family business, Wheeler Construction. He had a knack for building custom furniture, liked collecting coins, and enjoyed being with his family, especially his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Joe Frank Wheeler, Danny Clifton Wheeler, and Michael "Micky" Harris Wheeler .

He is survived by his nieces, Dede Long and Brandi Boswell; nephews, Chris Wheeler and Mike Wheeler; several great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 21, 2021 at 4:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Rev. C. E. Wilkey officiating. Interment will follow in Kingston Cemetery. Pallbearers include Kyle Nally, Cody Nally, Cole Nally, and Kade Nally.

The family will receive family and friends from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.
