Mr. Bobby Gene McFarland, age 71, of Cedar Creek Road, Cartersville, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at his residence.

He was born in Jamestown, KY, November 6, 1946, son of the late Joe N. McFarland, Sr. and Lillian "Betty" Brookshire McFarland. Bobby was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. He was a talented carpenter and enjoyed working in the yard. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles McFarland and Joe McFarland, Jr and grandchildren, Dakota McFarland, Tyler Roberson, and Dalton Roberson.

Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Alice McFarland of Cartersville; children, Derrick and Verlie McFarland of Fairmount, Penny Anglin and Wiley Sullins of Cartersville, Liz and Michael Roberson of Cartersville, and Molly an Anthony Carrington of Cartersville; stepchildren, Andrew and Lauren Borders of Adairsville, Amy and Mason Schmidt of TX, and Lisa ford of Cartersville; 18 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville with Rev. Larry Hufstetler and Mr. Donny Lowery officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Adairsville. Pallbearers will be Ricky McFarland, Michael McFarland, Jason Barton, Darryl Wade, Dewayne Smith, and Randy Brock. Honorary pallbearers include his grandsons, Austin Anglin, Zack McFarland, Seth McFarland, Blake Carrington, Tony Anglin, Matt Plechat, Tyler Mims, Adam Miller, Cullen Schmidt, and Tyler Borders

The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
