Mr. James Bradley Parker, age 68, of Adairsville, GA, passed away August 25, 2011 at the residence.
He was born in Adairsville, GA, November 26, 1942, son of Bessie Cochran Parker and the late Rev. Jesse James Parker. Mr. Parker was a member of Stoner Chapel Baptist Church where he had formerly been the Adult Sunday School Teacher. He enjoyed singing and had been a member of the Joyfulaires for over 25 years. Mr. Parker loved to spend time with his family and collecting antiques. He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers, Harry and Lloyd Parker.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Hilda Abernathy Parker of Adairsville; a son, Rodney Alan Parker of Cartersville; a daughter and son-in-law, Tammy Denise and Danny Davis of Kingston; his mother, Bessie Cochran Parker of Adairsville, 2 grandsons, Parker Davis and Austen Davis; 7 sisters, Myrtle Abernathy of Cassville, Joanne (Wendell) Harrell, Annette (Carl) Gay of Adairsville, Linda (Joel) Hyde of Cartersville, Estelle (Jimmy) Watkins of Calhoun, Debbie (Keith) Bearden of Cartersville, and Wynelle (Tim) Roach of Holly Springs; a brothers, Darrell (Pam) Parker of Adairsville and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 2:00 PM from Stoner Chapel
Baptist Church, Adairsville, with Rev. Randy Jackson, Rev. David Baker, and Rev. Earl Abernathy officiating. Interment will follow in Stoner Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour. Steve Abernathy, Kelly Abernathy, Byron Abernathy, Aaron Williams, Bruce Harrell, Steven Watkins, Nathan Harris, Tyler Roach, and Earon Parker will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Friday, August 26, 2011 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Stoner Chapel Baptist Church, Adairsville.
R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, will be in charge of arrangements for Mr. James Bradley Parker.
