Obituary
Mr. Brent Maurice Shortnacy, age 53, of Adairsville passed away Monday, January 16, 2017.
He was born in Etowah, AL, February 3, 1963, son of the late Billy Joe Peter Shortnacy and Mary Morgan Shortnacy. Mr. Shortnacy was of the Baptist faith and a heavy machinery operator. He was an avid collector of civil war relics, enjoyed being outdoors, playing golf and horseback riding. Mr. Shortnacy was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his daughters, Lana and Thomas Mayfield, Jr of Adairsville and Miranda and Chris Crowe of Cartersville; grandchildren, Rylee, Savannah and Paisley Mayfield, Colton and Chloe Crowe; siblings, Terry Shortnacy of Cedartown, Kent (Janet) Shortnacy of Gadsden, AL, Marlon (Beth) Shortnacy of Adairsville, Katrina (Kevin) Farrell of Plainville, and Anthony (Andrea) Shortnacy of Shannon; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 19, 2016 at 12:00 PM at Oothcalooga Baptist Church, Adairsville, with Rev. Tommy Harris officiating. Interment will follow in the Oothcalooga Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include Austin Shortnacy, Morgan Shortnacy, Ethan Farrell, Kevin Farrell, Brian Morgan, and Chris Bell.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
