Rev. C. E. Wilkey, age 86, a lifelong resident of Kingston, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, September 29, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

C. E. was born in Kingston, GA, October 17, 1936, son of the late Emmett Wilkey and Lillie Wilkey Jones. Mr. Wilkey was also preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Wilkey; grandson, Dennis Dial; and brothers, Emmett Wilkey, Jr. and Billy Franklin Wilkey. A faithful servant of God, C. E. preached the gospel for over 60 years. He preached at numerous churches, the last being Kingston Full Gospel Apostolic Church. It always filled his heart with joy sharing Gods word. C. E. worked for the City of Kingston and a true pillar of the community. He was a caring and generous man, always extending a helping hand to those in need. His family would tell you he was the world's best husband, father, and papa, and brother. He touched lives of many people and will be dearly missed by all.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Wilkey; children, Lavangia and Landas Diddle, Linda and Todd Orshoski, and Douglas Wilkey; grandchildren, Tony Helton (Chasta), Paige Wilkey, and Nathan Wilkey (Lanita); great-grandchildren, Logan Wilkey, Bailey House, Lucas Wilkey, Avery Jenkins, Austin Helton, Cheyenne Helton, Caden Wilkey, Rylan Wilkey, and Destiny; great great-grandchildren, Kimber Wilkey, Brynn Wilkey, and Ruby House; brother, Earl and Linda Wilkey; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 1, 2023, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville, with Ministers Kelly Wilkey, Mike Abernathy, Chris Carter, Gary Easterwood, Larry Buttram, and Mr. Todd Orshoski officiating. Interment will follow in the Kingston Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Tony Helton, Austin Helton Nathan Wilkey, Lucas Wilkey, Logan Wilkey and Avery Jenkins.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
