Mrs. Carelton Watters Dutton, age 89, of Adairsville, passed away Monday, May 16, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Rome, Georgia, February 25, 1933, to the late Emmett Jackson Watters and Edna Irene Lancaster Watters . Mrs. Dutton was a member of Adairsville First Christian Church and retired from Mannington Carpets after 29 years of service. Carelton was an avid gardener, and you would usually find her planting in her greenhouses. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be missed by all who loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Pat Richard Dutton, Sr.; granddaughters, Sandy Hendrix and Jessica Dutton; brothers, Mark Watters, Albert Watters, and E. J. Watters; and sisters, Margaret Watters, Virginia Marshall, and Joan Baker.

Survivors include her children, Charlotte Rose, Pat "Rick" Dutton, Jr. (Teresa Atkins), and Anthony "Tony" Dutton (Rebecca Dutton); grandchildren, Ashley Reed, Mandy Reed, Madison Chapman, Melissa Dutton, Heather Gallagher, Alexis Locklair, Christopher Wells, and Angel Sizemore ; 19 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren; brother, Gyle Watters (Renee); niece, Sylvia Kalebas; special cousin Eloise Freeman and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Rev. Josh Maddox officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville. Pallbearers will be Spencer Reed, A. J. Reed, Jesse Pickle, Jesse Hendrix, Christopher Wells, and Haley Hammonds. Honorary pallbearers will be Axel Reed, Todd Pickle, Sam Gallagher, and Brody Locklair.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00AM until 1:00PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
