Dr. Carl Edward Billue, Sr. went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, February 15, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Carl was born in Atlanta, Georgia, May 25, 1937, son of the late George Edward Billue and Sara Pruitt Billue. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Edna Ashe and a great-granddaughter, Annabelle Reece Morris. Carl was a graduate of Chamblee High School, Carson-Newman University, and Southern Baptist Seminary. He served as a Pastor for 39 years. He was Licensed at University Baptist Church, Brookhaven, Ga in 1957 and Ordained October 13, 1963, at Lebanon Baptist Church in Talbott, Tn where he served from 1963-1965. He then Pastored at Milstead Baptist Church, Milstead, Ga from 1966 thru 1968, Temple Baptist Church, Temple, Ga from 1971 thru 1978. While at Temple Baptist Church he received his Doctorate of Ministries from Luther Rice Seminary. June 1978 he was called to Pastor Atco Baptist Church in Cartersville, Ga from 1978 thru 1993. While at Atco he served on the executive committee of the Georgia Baptist Association and as Moderator of Middle Cherokee Association. Carl served as Chaplain of Cartersville Public Safety Department from 1984-1993. In 1993 he Pastored at Hill City Baptist Church, Sugar Valley, Ga until his retirement in 2002.
Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Charlotte Chapman Billue; son, Eddie (Kim) Billue; daughter, Vicki Billue; granddaughter, Alexis (Joshua) Morris; great-granddaughter, Adalynn Morris; brother, John Billue; numerous nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 3:00 pm at Grace Baptist Church with Reverends Kyle Clayton, Paul Battles, and Keith Dempsey officiating.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm at Grace Baptist Church, Cartersville.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Grace Baptist Church Building Fund, 477 Old Cassville White Rd, NW, Cartersville, Ga 30121
