Mrs. Carol Ann Buchen Markley, age 80, of Adairsville, GA passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Carol was born in Prairie City, IL on October 16, 1942, to the late Marshall Edward Buchen and Geneva Walters Buchen. She was also preceded in death by her son, Tim Wilson; daughter, Kimberly Girard; and sister, Barbara Miller. Mrs. Markley attended NorthPointe Church and retired from the Bartow County School System. Carol was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was an avid reader and enjoyed working with flowers and gardening.

Survivors include her loving husband of 50 years, Gene Markley; children, Chris Wilson and wife Denise and Bart Markley wife Heather; grandchildren, Anthony Wilson, Kellie Wilson, Bryson Markley, Bentley Markley, Echo Wilson, Melissa Wilson, Zane Wilson, Garrett Wilson and Corey Girard; several great-grandchildren; brother, Marshall Buchen and wife Sue; sister, Donna Ide and several nieces and nephews.

Honoring Carol's wishes she will be cremated. A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
