Mrs. Carolyn Virginia Van Wagner, age 72, of Morgan Drive, Adairsville, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2014 peacefully at home.
She was born in Atlanta, Georgia, February 13, 1942, daughter of the late Thomas Brooks and Margaret Poole Brooks. Mrs. Van Wagner was a member of the Adairsville United Methodist Church and Sunday School teacher. She volunteered for several years at Cartersville Medical Center, enjoyed taking trips to Jekyll Island, and an avid collector of hummingbirds. As a wife, mother, and grandmother she cherished her time spent with her husband and family. Mrs. Van Wagner was preceded in death by her parents and 11 siblings.
Survivors include her husband of forty-one years, Harry Van Wagner of Adairsville; children, Denise Morrissey of Cartersville, Sherry and Tim Stewart of Bloomville, NY, Dana Frattini of Middlefield, CT, Michael and Tammy Denton of Adairsville; step-children, Kim Van Wagner of Phoenix, AZ and Craig Van Wagner of Chino, CA; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Marion and Ruby Brooks of Fayetteville; sister, Dora Appling of Hiriam; sister-in-law, Carol Brooks of Fayetteville and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Pastor Kelly Brisendine officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.
