Charles Edward Adcock, age 70, of Cartersville passed away peacefully on September 3, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loved ones.
Charles was born in Bartow County, GA, January 21, 1954, son of the late Howard Adcock and Anna Fields Sexton. He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Clyde Adcock and Robert Lee Adcock.
Charles was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He enjoyed spending time with his family, tending to his farm and loafing with his buddy Jackie. He was of the Baptist faith. Charles retired from C. W. Matthews Contracting with over 25 years of service and then worked for Bartow County. He will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Emalene Pope Adcock; children, Leslie Hightower (Greg), Keith Adcock, Ashley Motes (Michael), Eddie Adcock, and Christy Holmes; special kids, Gabby and David Chun; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Annie Mae Wyatt; brother, Carl Adcock; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 2:00PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville with Pastor Shae Satterfield officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens, Cartersville. Pallbearers will be Michael Motes, Glenn Pope, Greg Hightower, Christon Hightower, Oscar Chun and Jackie Stephens. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Adcock and Eric Craig.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
