Charles Ray Landrum, 73, of Dunwoody went home to Heaven at 12:20 a.m. on May 7, 2013, after a lengthy illness.
Ray was born August 5, 1939, in Adairsville, Georgia, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Landrum.
Ray graduated from Berry Academy. He attended Berry College and Georgia Institute of Technology as an engineering student. He was in recent years retired from Kliklok-Woodman where he worked as a Project and Development Engineer. Ray worked in the field of engineering for more than fifty years, benefiting firms such as Lockheed Martin and Mead with his deep expertise and uncanny attention to detail.
Although known for his engineering skills, for those closest to Ray, he will be best remembered as a man who lived out his faith in Jesus. He had a passion for missions and for helping his neighbor, whoever that might be. It can be said of Ray that he truly loved others as himself (Mark 12:30-31).
Surviving are his devoted wife of nearly 51 years, Flora (Alvo) Landrum; his loving children, Mark (Rahel) Landrum of Australia, Michael Landrum of Dahlonega, David (Jennifer) Landrum of Atlanta; and a sister, Anne Landrum of Florida.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 10th, at Genesis Bible Church, located at 5123 Chamblee-Dunwoody Road, Dunwoody, GA 30338, along with a service to celebrate Mr. Landrum's full life and home-going beginning at 11:00 a.m. Following the visitation and service there will be a brief graveside ceremony at Eastview Cemetery in Adairsville, Georgia, at 2:30 p.m. Directions to the cemetery are as follows: From I-75N, exit Hwy 140 (exit 306) and turn left. Turn left onto Poplar Springs Road. The cemetery is on the left just before Hwy 41.
Both events will be officiated by Dr. Dennis J. Mock, Mr. Landrum's pastor.
It was Ray's wish that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to BTCP (Bible Training Centre for Pastors), or Genesis Bible Church.
