Obituary

Mr. Charles Lee "Charlie" Lockridge, age 71, native of Adairsville Ga, passed away suddenly on June 25, 2015. He was an Army veteran and served his country during the Vietnam War. During his lifetime he also worked at Lockheed, was the owner operator of his own trucking business and also worked with Cardinal Trucking. Charlie loved square dancing for several years, where he met his life companion. He was also an avid Beekeeper and belonged to several different groups including Opeechee Area Beekeepers Association of Statesboro GA, Cherokee Bee Club of Canton, Cartersville Beekeepers Guild of Cartersville, and Bartow County Beekeepers of Cartersville. He was born on May 23, 1944 to the late Mary Kerr Lockridge and the late Leonard Otis Lockridge. He was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Coplin, and brother, Jimmy Lockridge. He is survived by his loving companion of 30 years, Myra Rissmiller, special friend, "Little Bit" Ashton Daurghty, sister-in-law, Dot Lockridge, brother-in-law, Leonard Coplin, brother, Wallace Lockridge all of Adairsville, sister and brother-in-law, Lynelle and Ray Ellis of Kingston, sister and brother-in-law, Lorene and Ronald Potts of Calhoun. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A memorial service for Charlie will be held at 1:00 pm September 26, 2015 at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, 825 Hall Station Road, Adairsville, GA, 30103, with Rev. Richard Prince and Rev. Fred Buchanan officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery and the family request fellowship in the fellowship hall following. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to the Georgia Vietnam Veterans Alliance, 5879 New Peachtree Road, Doraville, Georgia 30340.
