Mr. Charles Eugene Smith, of Summit Drive, Adairsville passed away Friday, January 4, 2013 at his residence.
Mr. Smith was born in Rome, Georgia, June 8, 1935, son of the late Charles Marion Smith and Bertie Mae Roberts Smith. Mr. Smith was a member of the New Antioch Baptist Church in Shannon, Georgia and was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Matthew Glenn Smith and a brother, Jim Smith
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Martha Warren Smith of Adairsville; 4 sons and daughters-in-law, Rickey Smith of Calhoun, Mike (Teresa) Smith of Adairsville, Donnie (Clorice) Smith of Plainville, and Kevin Smith of Adairsville; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah (Neal) Lemons of Adairsville and Candace (Brandon) Shirley of Adairsville; 8 brothers and sisters, Iris Zimmerman, Eleanor West, Richard Smith, Marion Whittle, Nancy Brooks, Shelia Baker, Vickie Rayburn, and Gregory Smith; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Monday, January 7, 2013, at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville with Rev. John Warren officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the service begins.
