Mr. Charles "Charlie" Wayne Hammonds, age 65, of Taylorsville, passed away peacefully Friday evening, June 3, 2022.

He was born in Rome, Georgia on April 16, 1957, son of the late William David Hammonds and Virginia Lulabell Rodgers Hammonds. Charles worked as a carpenter for several years. From day light to dark you would find him outside. He loved going horseback riding and a good night playing poker. He was a loving father, grandpa, and brother. He was preceded in death by his parents, William David Hammonds and Virginia Lulabell Rodgers Hammonds, brother, Roger Hammonds.

Survivors include his wife, Pansy Byrd; children, Amanda "Mandy" Forbes (Ryan) and Kevin Hammonds; stepchildren, Cookie, Candy, and Richie Hancock; grandchildren, Angel Jarrell (Chase), Rion Forbes, Josh Jenkins, Andrew Hammonds, Markas Hammonds, Adam Hammonds, Ava Hammonds; great-grandchild, Jaxon Jarrell; brothers and sisters, Lee Hammonds, Danny Hammonds, Brenda McClure, Betty Lindsey, Syble Williams, and Scottie Hammonds (Helen); and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 6, 2022, at 3:30PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville. The family will receive friends Monday from 1:30PM until the hour of the funeral. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Hammonds, David Williams, Larry Lindsey, Richie Hancock, Scottie Hammonds, Danny Hammonds, Ronnie "Papa" Reynolds, Randy Elkins, and Mikey Lindsey.
