Mr. Charlie Leroy Burk, age 65, of Old Highway 41, NW, Adairsville, passed away Monday, May 1, 2017 at his residence.
He was born in Moultrie, GA, April 12, 1952, son of Almer Clayton Burk and the late Charles Floyd Burk. Mr. Burk was of the Christian Faith, and had retired from Dixie Group where he worked in the yarn dyeing department. He grew up in a tobacco farming family and loved to farm, enjoy the outdoors, and watching wrestling. You could often find him sitting on the porch and spending time with family. He was preceded in death by his father and brothers, Daniel and Joe Burk.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Smith Burk of Adairsville; his mother, Almer Clayton of Plainville; a son, Charles Floyd Burk of Adairsville; a daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Andy Woodard of Adairsville; 3 grandchildren, Stephen Burk, Alexis Burk, and Sierra Burk; 2 brothers, Arlie (Vickie) Burk of Plainville, Lee Burk of Ranger; 2 sisters Hilda (Tommy) Gravitt of Plainville, and Mary Whittemore of Ringgold; nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial services will be held Friday, May 5, 2017, at 5:00 PM at 323 Franklin Road, Plainville, GA.
