Ms. Cherry Darlene Owensby Hardin, 60, of 152 Holcomb Road, NW, Adairsville, passed away Monday evening, October 29, 2012 at her residence.
She was born in Atlanta, GA, October 18, 1952, daughter of the late Johnny and Geneva Long Owensby. Ms. Hardin had attended Olive Branch Assembly in Adairsville. She had a passion for music, enjoyed singing and playing the guitar, and loved to give praise and worship through her musical talents, and most of all loved spending time with and taking care of her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a nephew, Cyrus Pratt.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Clifford Pratt of Adairsville, and Tony (Consequela) Ramos of Adairsville; a daughter, Teresa "Tesa" Ramos Abernathy of Adairsville; 7 grandchildren, Classie Pratt, Lisa (C. B.) Smith, Eric Abernathy, Katie Abernathy, Kayla Ramos, Izaak Ramos, and Eli Ramos; 5 great-grandchildren, Logan Vines, Lillie Lanham, Lane Pratt, Laura Smith, and Lijah Smith; 3 brothers, Darrell Owensby, Anthony Owensby and Tyron Owensby, all of Adairsville; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Mildred (Lemuel) Pratt, and Tammy Thompson, both of Adairsville; several nieces and nephews and host of dear friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 2, 2011, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Stan English officiating. Interment will follow in Towe Chapel Cemetery, Adairsville.
Pallbearers include C.B. Smith, Kenneth Hilley, Brian Avery, Junior Blasengame, Lemuel Pratt, and Kelly Holmes; while Randy Johnson and Scott Huskins will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
