Obituary
Ms. Christine Elizabeth Lewis Alford, age 90, of 77 Green Loop, Adairsville, passed away Monday morning, November 19, 2012, at Morning Point Assisted Living, Calhoun.
She was born in the Folsom Community, Adairsville, January 4, 1922, daughter of the late James Franklin and Chlo Belcher Lewis. Ms. Alford was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church and had been employed for over thirteen years with Union Carbide in Cartersville where she later retired. She enjoyed sewing, going fishing and spending time outside in her garden. Ms. Alford was preceded in death by 2 sons, William "Bill" Franklin Alford and Windel Marvin Alford; and a sister, Francis McIntyre.
Survivors include a daughter, Paula Payne of Adairsville; 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Linn (Linda) Alford of Adairsville and Glenn Alford of Adairsville;13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
A private family memorial service was held on Sunday, November 25, 2012, at the family homeplace.
R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, will be in charge of funeral arrangements for Ms. Christine Lewis Alford.
