Obituary

Mr. Clarence Billy King, age 84, of 7612 Adairsville Highway, Adairsville, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Cartersville Medical Center.

He was born in Bartow County, June 29, 1930, son of the late Clifford Emerson King, Sr and Bertha Mae Hayes King. He was a member of Adairsville Baptist Church. He was valedictorian at Adairsville High School for the class of 1948 and a graduate of the University of Georgia. Mr. King was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force having served during the Korean Conflict. As an entrepreneur he was an owner of several businesses, a farmer, and also a realtor. Mr. King was a member of the Adairsville Lions Club and in his free time enjoyed going to the Napa Auto Parts and visiting with the Napa Men. His greatest accomplishment was his family, who he loved and cherished more than anything. Mr. King was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Shelia Mae King; brothers, Raymond King, C.E. King, Jr., Edward King, and James P. King, Sr.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-seven years, Yvonne Bunch King of Adairsville; son and daughter-in-law, Kent C. King and Karen of Calhoun; daughter and son-in-law, Cara Beth Goforth and Michael of Adairsville; grandchildren, Joshua and Candace Byers of Adairsville and Jacob and Cherree Byers of Adairsville; great-granddaughter, Cara Ann Byers of Adairsville; step-grandchildren, Jade Garland and Blake Garland of Calhoun; brother-in-law, J. Timothy Bunch and Janie of Calhoun; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at 3:00 PM at Adairsville Baptist Church, Adairsville with Rev. Jim Pinkard and Rev. Eric Sorrell officiating. The body will lie in state at the church from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville.

Pallbearers will be Evan King, Jimmy King, Gary Floyd, Mike Smith, Jeff Sloan, and Bobby Hazelwood, . Honorary Pallbearers will be Otis Adams, Earl Culberson, Bill West, Phillip McDaniel, Flipper McDaniel, and Randy Hazelwood.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.

R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, will be in charge of funeral arrangements for Mr. Clarence Billy King.
