Claude Jimmy Mitchell, age 74, of Cartersville, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022, at Cartersville Medical Center.

Mr. Mitchell was born in Cartersville, Georgia, February 2, 1948, to the late, Willy Mitchell and Addie Sanford Mitchell . He was a member of Lighted Pathway Church of God . Mr. Mitchell retired from New Riverside Ochre Company after 43 years of service. He enjoyed the outdoors and hunting. Jimmy loved his family and adored his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Laura Mitchell, Shirley Walraven, and Frances Phillips .

Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Linda McCrary Mitchell; daughter, Carolyn Mitchell; granddaughter, Chelsea and Michael Cowart; great grandsons, Gabriel and Mason Cowart; sister, Sarah and Russ Jolly and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday June 29, 2022, at 2:00PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Kitchens officiating. Internment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Larry Mulkey, Charles Blalock, Rickey Cabe, Tim Young, Joseph Jolly, and Johnny Debty.  Honorary pallbearers will be Ray King and Wayne King.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Barton Funeral Home.

R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, will be in charge of funeral arrangements for Claude Jimmy Mitchell.
