Mr. Columbus Doyle Hayes, age 65, of Pleasant Valley Road, Adairsville, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Cartersville Medical Center.

He was born October 15, 1950 in Braswell Mountain, GA, son of the late Julius Hayes and Annie Mae Jacobs Hayes. Mr. Hayes was of the Baptist faith and a retired mechanic from Bartow Paving. After retirement he enjoyed living the simple life with his family, you would usually find him relaxed watching his shows. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Francis Hayes.

Survivors include his loving wife of 17 years, Virginia Hayes of Adairsville; daughter, Stacy (Lester) Schuman of Hiram; step-children, Tommy Freeman of Adairsville, Lawana (Tony) Aguliar of Adairsville, Malissa Howard of Adairsville, Jamie (Whitney) Mullinax of Euharlee, and Danny (Heather) Mullinax of Douglasville; brothers, Thomas Hayes, Robert Hayes, Franklin Hayes, and Curtis Hayes; sisters, Rosa Lee Freeman and Judy Smith; 17 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 15, 2016 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville, with Rev. Jim Pinkard officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include Danny Mullinax, Ricky J. Jarrell, Charlie Nation, Corey Nation, Lee Freeman, and Michael Freeman.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.
