Mrs. Cora Bessie Jenkins, 78, of Raymond Jenkins Road, Kingston, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 18, 2014.

She was born in Taylorsville, GA, December 6, 1935, daughter of the late Charles Raymond Jenkins and Mary Frances "Janie" Kell Jenkins. Bessie was retired from the carpet mill industry and enjoyed spending time with her family, talking on the phone to friends, watching televised NASCAR and the Atlanta Braves, and listening to her favorite gospel music group The Inspiration. She attended CanaanLand Christian Center, where she was baptized in June 2009. Bessie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ralph Jenkins, Hugh Dennis Jenkins, Charles "Nook" Jenkins; Johnny Mitchell Jenkins, and sister, Evelyn Jenkins Maynor and sister-in-law, June Jenkins.

Survivors include her daughter, Mollie Evans of Kingston; two grandchildren, Denise (Greg) Crowe of Kingston and Criss (Amy) Evans of Cartersville; three great grandchildren, Laney Shaw and Tinsley Evans of Cartersville and Belinda (Billy) Thomas of Rome; great great grandchild, Elijah William Thomas of Rome; brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Myra Jenkins of Adairsville; special friend, Shantel Towns of Kingston and her cat, Bobby Boo; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville with Rev. C.E. Wilkey officiating. Bessie will be laid to rest with her parents and two brothers at Bethel Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery, Taylorsville.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
