Cory Allen Lewis, age 37, of Cartersville, went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, April 28, 2026.
Cory was born in Urbana, IL May 22, 1988, to Michelle Hall Kay and the late Charles Leslie Lewis, III. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Michael Lewis and grandmothers, Cheryl Hall and Nancy Cornette.
Survivors include his beloved mother, Michel Hall Kay; dad, Bryan Kay; grandfather, Eddie Lee Cornette; sister, Brandy Lewis (Brandon Hunt); brother, Zack Kay; nephews, Ian Little, Pierstan Sharpe, Parker Hunt, and Dean Kay; stepdaughter, Lindsey Gayton and her children, Haizlie, River, and Astrid who loved him as BoPa; aunts, Mylinda Merritt and Angela Hall; uncles, Christopher Hall and Matthew Hall; special cousins, BJ, Adam, and Wade Merritt along with several others and many dear friends.
Cory’s passions in life were motorcycles, all things mechanical, and good food. He had a remarkable gift for bringing engines back to life when no one else could, and an equally impressive ability to enjoy a plate of food as big as his head. Beneath his talents, Cory had a deeply spiritual soul and felt things more deeply than most ever knew. He had a larger-than-life personality, able to shift from serious to playful in an instant, often embracing his goofy inner self he affectionately called “Cookie.”
Cory faced more than his share of struggles, but he loved with a depth that was rare. He was the friend people turned to when they needed someone—steady hands, a listening ear, or simply a presence that made things feel less heavy. In countless ways, he touched the lives of those around him, often more profoundly than he ever understood.
He will be forever loved and missed—more than he ever knew, more than he ever believed, and more than words can fully hold.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 4, 2026, at 3:00 PM from One Way Ministries Church, Kingston with Pastor Jason Dupree officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at One Way Ministries Church.
R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home, Inc., Adairsville is in charge of arrangements for Cory Allen Lewis.
