Mr. Curtis Carl Chappell, age 61, of Elm Street, Adairsville, passed away Friday, April 22, 2016 at his residence.
He was born in Greenville, Georgia, October 25, 1954, son of the late Arline Lou James and Vesta Mae Hunt Chappell. Mr. Chappell attended Eagle's Way Life Center in Calhoun. He enjoyed the simple things in life, like sitting around singing and playing the guitar. Mr. Chappell cherished all of his family, especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law, Randall Sloan; brother, Calvin Chappell and sisters, Vera Mae Akason and Yvonne Adcock.
Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Gloria Chappell of Adairsville; children, Patricia Chappell Sloan of Calhoun, Mildred (Eric) Watkins of Adairsville, Curtis (Moshie) Chappell of Cartersville, Nicholas (Cristin) Chappell of TN; Katie (Amos) Ellard of Dalton; 11 grandchildren; brothers, Eugene Chappell and Tommy Chappell; sisters, Martha Reed and Arlene Lindenfelser,
A celebration of Mr. Chappell's life will be held Thursday evening, April 28, 2016 at 6:00 PM from Eagle's Way Life Center, Calhoun with Rev. Vince Gulledge officiating. Honorary pallbearers include, Dawson Sloan, Richard Hyde, Tadd Hyde, Damon Hyde, Brody Lancaster, Channey Lancaster, Ronnie Hubbard, Troy Fox, Amos Ellard, Jeremy Helms, Bobby Craig, David Craig, Derrick Craig, Patrick Craig, Stephen Sanders, and Elliott Sanders.
