Cynthia Diane Freeman McBurnett, 53, of Atlanta, passed away March 19, 2014, after a 10-month battle with non-smoker's lung cancer.

She was born in Rome, GA on January 2, 1961. She attended Adairsville Schools, graduated from The Darlington School and attended Mercer University. Cynthia was employed by Habersham Funding, LLC. Prior to that, she was employed by the U.S. Postal Service, as an auctioneer and was a licensed real estate broker. Her home church was Snow Springs Baptist Church (Adairsville). Cynthia was preceded in death by her beloved father, Richard D. (R.D.) Freeman, as well as both sets of grandparents.

Survivors include her daughters Aimee L. McBurnett and Olivia D. McBurnett, both of Atlanta, mother Millie West Freeman, of Adairsville and Atlanta, brother M. Bryan Freeman, Atlanta, as well as by extended family, most primarily in Adairsville and environs.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at the R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home in Adairsville. Funeral services will be held at Snow Springs Baptist Church at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 23. Cynthia will lie in state at the funeral home prior to a funeral procession to the church. A reception will follow.
