Mr. Daniel " Danny" C lay Garland , age 78, of Pine Log, went to h is heavenly home Mon day, December 13 , 20 21, s urrounded by family.

H e was born in Pine Log , GA on February 27, 1943 , son of the late Romie Dan Garland and Bonn y l i n Dooley Garland . Mr. Garland was a faithful member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He retired from Lockheed Martin. Danny enjoyed any and everything about horse s ; from making custom harnesses to riding and training . Mr. Garland was the owner and rider of the 1971 World Champion Walking Horse. Danny was preceded in death by h is parents and wife, Linda Kennedy Garland.

Survivors include h is daughters, Gayle and Sol Collum and Joy and Eric Abernathy; grandchildren, Megan (Jody) Jamison, Danielle Abernathy, Ethan (Hannah) Abernathy, Caron (Jesse) Hopper, Mason (Shea) Collum, and Emily (Noah) Johnson ; great- grandchildren , Aspen and Bristol Collum, Tate and Greyson Jamison, Denver Hopper and Henley Abernathy ; brother, William "Bill" and Jeanette Garland; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednes day, December 15 , 20 21, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Reverend Tracy Collum officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Rydal. Pallbearers include Ethan Abernathy, Mason Collum, Jody Jamison, Jesse Hopper, Noah Johnson, and Tim Martin . Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Bramlett and Brian Adcock.

The family will receive friends Wednes day from 12 :00 PM until 2 :00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.
