Mr. Danny Murrel Self, 69, of Adairsville passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at his residence.

Mr. Self was born in Calhoun, Georgia, January 25, 1951, son of the late Felmore Elthan "F. E." Self and Mary Lee Pelfrey Self. He attended Adairsville Church of Christ. Mr. Self was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam Era and retired from Apache Mills after 40 years of service. He enjoyed working with engines, drag racing, car restoration, and even lawn mower repairs. His family was most important to him, especially his grandchildren and great-grandson. Danny will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Lou Self and Velma Lee Elwood; brothers, Ralph Self, Delmus Self, and Larry Self.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Sheila Colston Self; daughters, Sonya Self and Rebecca and John Caudill; grandchildren, Austin Hudson, Megan Hudson and fiance Nicholas Walters, Skylar Caudill, Naomi Caudill, and Cadence Caudill; great-grandson, Jake Lee Walters; brothers, F. A. and Mary Rose Self and Ronnie and Mary Jane Self; sister, Linda and Alfred Harris; sisters-in-law, Faye Self and Gayla Self several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Friday, December 18, 2020, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Min. Rick Lawson officiating. Internment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville with military honors. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home. Pallbearers will include his grandson, Austin Hudson and nephews.

Family and friends attending services will be required to wear face mask and observe social distancing.
