Mrs. Daphne Marie Pullum Carter, age 79, of Ripley Avenue, Adairsville, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2014 at the residence.

She was born in Calhoun, Georgia, October 15, 1935, daughter of the late Grady Pullum, Sr. and Sallie Butler Pullum. Mrs. Carter was a member of Grays Chapel AME, Adairsville. Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest William Carter; brothers, Grady Pullum, Jr, Thomas Pullum, James Pullum, Nathaniel Pullum, and George Young; sisters, Ada Lee Wilkey and Charcle Mae Dixon.

Survivors include children, Judy Carter of Calhoun, Rhonda Carter of Calhoun, Kathryn Carter of Adairsville, and Ernest Carter of Calhoun; step-son, Danny Carter of Calhoun; grandchildren, Ebonee Carter, Brandon Gregory, Sekendria Henderson, Taneka Henderson, Shontae Carter, Jaimon Mitchell, Jileyah Mitchell and Tre Mitchell; step-granddaughter, Monisha Dixon and 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Pullum; sisters-in-law, Hattie Pullum, Threada Pullum, Joan Carter, Katherine Ingram, Lurlene Lowe, and Annie Bell Sanders; brothers-in-law, Leroy Carter, Melvin Lowe, and Calvin Lowe; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Adairsville Church of God with Rev. Leonard Daniels officiating. Interment will follow in Poplar Springs Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church on Saturday from 1:00 PM until the time of the funeral. Pallbearers include Jermaine Wilson, Craig Beasley, Gary Slocum, Lamar Wilkey, DJ Wilkey, and James Pullum. Flower girls include Nikki Mallory, Monique Pullum, Dorothy Wilkey, Tracy McConnell, Lisa Austin, and Vickie Callahan.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Grays Chapel AME, Adairsville.
