Mrs. Daphne Hollaran Scoggins, 89, of Hopkins Road, Adairsville passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Scoggins was born in Adairsville, November 26, 1928, daughter of the late Ernest C. Hollaran and Dovie Deal Hollaran. Mrs. Scoggins was of the protestant faith. She retired from Arrow Shirts and was an avid gardener. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed. Mrs. Scoggins was preceded in death by her husband, Charles William Scoggins, Sr., son, Charles William "Smokey" Scoggins, Jr., and great grandson, Ashton Scoggins.
Survivors include her children, Keith Scoggins of Adairsville and Gail and Larry Collins of Powder Springs; brother, Talmadge Hollaran of Adairsville; sisters, Pat Fair and Linda Jones both of Adairsville; grandchildren, Cindy (Bo) Smith, Steven (Heidi) Collins, Brian (Becky) Collins, Joel Scoggins, Matt (Louise) Scoggins, Casey (Melinda) Scoggins and Luke Scoggins; 12 great grandchildren, 3 great – great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 12:00 high noon at the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville with Reverend Jim Pinkard and Bo Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens, Calhoun. Pallbearers include Richard Hollaran, Kipp Champion, Rob Fair, Chad Delong, Russell Gordon, and Jason Hughes. Honorary pallbearers include Danny Gordon and the grandsons.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.
