Obituary

Ms. Anna Darlene Waldon Payne, better known as "Dar Dar" or "Gam", 62, of Adairsville passed away Friday evening, July 24, 2020, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Crab Orchard, Kentucky, December 3, 1957, daughter of the late John D. Waldon and Ruby Boswell Webb Waldon. Ms. Payne attended NorthPointe Church and Remnant Church. A pillar of the community, she served on the Cheryl Painter Scholarship Board, Downtown Develop (DDA), Event Planning Board for the City of Adairsville, along with volunteering for church events and school activities. She loved her family more than anything in this world. She enjoyed spending her time going to all their sporting events, beach vacations, and cooking family dinners. She had a heart as big as the sky, wore a smile that shined like the sun, and brought laughter to a quiet room. Darlene never met a stranger and if she knew you, she loved you. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Richard Webb and Randy Waldon; and sister, Mary Ann Brock.

Survivors include her daughter, Kisha Bearden; son, Corey and Jessie Welchel; her precious grandchildren, Reanna Bearden, Jaxon Welchel, Rylie Bearden, Chloe Welchel, Braxton Bearden, and Gabriel Welchel; brother, Ronnie Waldon; several nieces and nephews; and a host of children and grandchildren she loved as her own.

Following Covid19 guidelines with social distancing funeral services will be held Monday, July 27, 2020, at 4:00 PM at NorthPointe Church with Rev. Jim Pinkard and Rev. Andrew Hight officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM at NorthPointe Church, Adairsville. The family ask friends to please join at Snow Springs Baptist Church Cemetery for the interment.

Pallbearers will be Jaxon Welchel, Braxton Bearden, Shane West, Adam Hight, Marcus Henderson, Chris Edwards. Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Painter, Gary McIntire, Terry West, Donnie Wren, Ravee Morrow, Cody Henderson, and Tarvis Scott.

R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, is in charge of arrangements for Ms. Darlene Waldon Payne.
