Mr. David Leon "Buddy" Bagwell, Sr. age 85, formerly of 53 Jones Road, Rydal, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Metropolitan Hospice, Marietta.

Mr. Bagwell was born in Rydal, GA, May 24, 1926, son of the late Thomas and Louella Willis Bagwell. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Morning Star #349 Masonic Lodge, Fairmount. Mr. Bagwell had worked for the Georgia Department of Transportation and was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Juanita Taylor Bagwell and a son, Dennis Van Bagwell.

Survivors include a son, David Bagwell, Jr. of Rydal; 2 grandsons, Thomas Chant Bagwell and David Logan Bagwell; a sister, Ione Bennett Barton of Dewey Community.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 18, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Hibberts officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Log United Methodist Church Cemetery, Rydal. Kenneth Taylor, Steve Taylor, Keith Taylor, Michael Finley, Jimmy Finley, and Randy Finley will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
