Mr. David Ray Cannon, age 72, of Gaines Loop, Rome passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at his residence.

He was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, March 20, 1946, son of the late Ray Wendal Cannon and Rosella Gurley Cannon. Mr. Cannon was member of Enon Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States, serving during the Vietnam Era. David was an avid fisherman and known to shoot a mean round of pool. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Joyce Cannon; sister, Millie Sellars, and brother, Darryl Cannon.

Survivors include his children, Dana Fowler of Boiling Springs, SC, David Cannon, II of Boiling Springs, SC, Davina (Kevin) Hayes of Boiling Springs, SC, Tammy Barlow of Cartersville, Lee (Stacey) Cox of Rome, Tim (Amy) Cox of Plantation, FL, and Trina (Chastain) Moss of Ranger, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Jimmy Cannon of SC and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 29, 2018, at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville with Minister Lee Cox officiating.   Interment will follow in the Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville. Pallbearers will be Lee Cox, Tim Cox, Jimmy Grainger, Timmy Cox, David Cox, and Chastain Moss, III.

The family will receive friends Friday from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Barton Funeral Home.
