Mr. David William Jones, age 78, of Hopkins Road, Adairsville, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the residence.
He was born in Calhoun, Georgia, January 28, 1938, son of the late O.L. Jones and Hester Rickett Jones. Mr. Jones was a member of Salem Baptist Church, a veteran of the United States Army and served in the National Guard. He loved spending time with his family, enjoyed playing golf, and watching NASCAR. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Linda Hollaran Jones; children, Sharon and Kenny Seabolt of Calhoun, Scott Jones of Calhoun, and Kipp and Selena Champion of Adairsville; grandchildren, Lindsay and Corey Baxter, Jordan and Ryan Poole, Spencer Jones, Jackson Jones, and Aniyah Dykes; great-grandchildren, Sawyer Baxter, Drew Baxter, and Presley Cole; sister, Sandra and Larry Avery of Blairsville.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. William Roberts, Rev. Ralph Parker, Rev. Gary Hibberts, and Rev. Jim Pinkard officiating. Interment will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens, Calhoun. Pallbearers include Lamar Dean, Fred Painter, Ricky Witt, Doug Fowler, and Joe Self. Honorary pallbearers include, John D. Hooker, Don Cochran, Harold Burnett, Fain King, Jean Huffstetler, Gary Amos, Ronnie Bray, Bobby Barrett, and Lamar Camp.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.
