Mr. David Monroe McBee, age 76, of Kingston, formerly of Blue Ridge, went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, January 4, 2025, with his loving wife at his side.
David McBee, born on May 28, 1948, in New Haven, Connecticut, was the beloved son of the late Everett Woodrow McBee and Elizabeth Gertrude Crouch McBee. He spent his formative years in North Branford, Connecticut, where he excelled as a basketball star and completed his high school education. David pursued higher education at Oglethorpe University, graduating in 1970.
His professional life was marked by a remarkable career in forklift sales, spanning over five decades. He began his career with Clark Equipment before taking a position with Owens Illinois, which involved extensive international travel, particularly in South America. Throughout his career, he also worked with, Yale, Hyundai, and most recently, Ogden Forklift.
David was a supporter of veterans, a World War II enthusiast, finding joy in movies and books about the era, and an avid collector of guns and knives. In his personal life, he was fortunate to reunite with the love of his life, Dee, and they spent their last years together in Blue Ridge before returning to her family home in Kingston. David served as a trustee for Kingston Methodist Church.
Survivors include his loving wife of a combined 17 years, the first time 3 years and
second 14 years, Sandra J. "Dee" McBee of Kingston; daughter, Jolley Rogers and husband Nathan of Atlanta; son, Albert B. Jones, III of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Zealand Rogers and Jagger Rogers; sister, Susan Thompson of West Virginia; sister-in-law, Candace Jolley of Tallapoosa and several dear cousins.
A celebration of David's life will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025, at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Min. Lurlene Sims officiating. The family will receive friends prior from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to Kingston Methodist Church, P.O. Box 275, Kingston, GA 30145 or the Tunnels to Towers Foundation at T2T.org
R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, will be in charge of funeral arrangements for Mr. David Monroe McBee.
