Born May 11, 1946, Cartersville, Georgia to the late George and Juanita Peace. He played the trumpet and ran track at Adairsville High School. At an early age he professed his faith in Our Lord Jesus Christ, he was a lifelong southern Baptist. In his last years a great affection grew in his heart towards the Our Lady, the Blessed Virgin Mary. He spoke of the consolation she gave him during painful times.
He was united in holy matrimony to Janice D. Peace. This union was blessed with two children. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Janice D. Peace.
Dr. David Peace served his country for over two decades retiring as an Avionics Chief Petty officer. After obtaining his PhD in Occupational Safety and Health, he received a Navy Achievement Medal for his development of the first occupational safety and health Manuel within the naval aviation community. After his retirement he continued his service to this great country as the Defense Intelligence Agency's Safety, Health and Environmental compliance officer. During 9/11 he bravely walked into the pentagon to assess the damages resulting from Islamic terrorist attacks. He never forgot the terrible loss of that day, he often spoke of the 125 souls lost.
David was a faithful friend to many, rich or poor, all races, colors and creeds. David was a man's man. He cooked lumpia, shrimp tempura, and filet mignon. He played golf and collected anything navy. He enjoyed a drink or two and could pass for Chevy Chase when he was young. His favorite movie was National Lampoon's Vacation. He would find it funny he is to be buried on a leap year.
